THIS 👈 is how being paleo works for us long-term. We worry less about rigid restrictions, and we let the principles of the paleo diet guide us. And did you know we’re not even 100% paleo? I like to think we’re “doable paleo,” meaning it’s largely doable for the average, everyday family that doesn’t happen to be headed in the kitchen by a paleo blogger 🙋♀️ At the beginning, we were quite strict, and that worked wonderfully for us as we became more accustomed to and comfortable with the foods we were eating. Over time, we fell into a natural rhythm of eating at home almost always, making paleo treats here and there, and eating whatever we want on occasion.
Since we really know our bodies now, having done multiple Whole30s, we still naturally shy away from those foods that don’t work well for our individual bodies. But we don’t obsess over perfection, because that, to me, is not realistic. Doable for a short period of time, maybe, but if you’re looking for sustainable health driven by whole foods, rigidity isn’t the way to go.
Where are you with your diet? How strict are you?
